Accessibility Statement
Last reviewed: 2026-06-08
The Old England Manor is committed to ensuring that our website is accessible to everyone, including visitors with disabilities. We continually work to improve the experience for all users and apply relevant accessibility standards as part of our ongoing care for our guests.
1. Conformance Standard
We design and maintain this website with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA as our anchor target. By aiming at WCAG 2.2, this site is designed to align with both of Taiwan's web accessibility standards:
- The current 網站無障礙規範 (Website Accessibility Guidelines), published by the Ministry of Digital Affairs (MODA) — which we have designed and tested this site against, using automated accessibility scanners and manual review. We have not pursued the formal 無障礙認證標章 (Accessibility Certification Badge) at this time.
- The upcoming 無障礙規範 2.2 版, scheduled for release in Q4 2026 — which we have designed against in advance, since WCAG 2.2 is a strict superset of WCAG 2.1. We will reassess formally when the Taiwan version is published.
We treat AA as a working target rather than a one-time certification. As our content evolves, we re-test against the standard and address issues we find or that visitors report to us.
2. Known Limitations
We are open about areas of the site that may not yet meet our target standard:
- The embedded Google Maps view in the Contact section is third-party content; its accessibility behavior is governed by Google.
- Image carousels include fade transitions. Visitors who are sensitive to motion may wish to enable their operating system's reduced-motion setting.
- PDF documents linked from the News section are produced separately and may not be fully accessible. Please contact us if you need information from a particular PDF in another format.
- External booking and reservation systems linked from this site are operated by partners; their accessibility is outside our direct control.
3. Feedback and Contact
If you find an accessibility barrier, have a suggestion, or need information from this site in an alternative format, please contact us at service@theoldengland.com with the subject line "Accessibility Feedback".
If you encounter difficulty using this site with any assistive technology, please let us know so we can investigate and improve.
We aim to respond to accessibility feedback within five business days. When you contact us, it helps to include the page URL, a description of the issue, and the device, browser, and assistive technology you are using.
4. Assessment Approach
Our work toward WCAG 2.2 AA combines automated checks and manual review. We use accessibility scanners during development, perform manual keyboard navigation checks, and review color contrast against the WCAG 2.2 success criteria. This statement is reviewed periodically and updated when significant changes are made.
